The Burgess Cellars’ hillside vineyards are on the steep slopes of Howell Mountain. The various exposures result in grapes that complement one another and build a complex, delicious wine. The wine is rich with spice on the nose, quintessential notes of black cherries, blueberries on the palate with a hint of mint.

This is a great example of well made California Cabernet from a small, family-owned estate that has chosen to farm organically. They look straight across the hill at Viader vineyards. Frog’s Leap Chardonnay
These guys practice organic and biodynamic farming. Their aim is to make wines that show grace and balance while still offering the warm fruit that has become Napa Valley's signature. Their Chardonnay is crisp and pure, with green apple and apricot backed by bracing acidity. Fermented half in stainless steel and half in oak, the result is a beautifully balanced wine. Cassis with savory herbal hints, ripe, sun-kissed fruit. Full-bodied California with an old-world touch of restraint. Great.

Forman Vineyards Chardonnay
Forman Vineyards makes a very small amount of impeccably crafted Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay in the Eastern hills of Napa Valley, a few Miles North of wineries like Screaming Eagle and Bryant Family. Crafted by Ric Forman, these wines are the very personal expressions of more than 3 decades of winemaking experience, and in our opinion, they are among a handful of the very best wines made in the United States. We recently spent some time with Ric's wife and asked her if they used any herbicides, or chemicals in their vineyards. She replied, "of course not, we live there!" Exactly.
Shafer Red Shoulder Ranch Chardonnay
Shafer has long been leaders in sustainable agriculture and environmentally-friendly practices, and were the first winery in the world to rely solely on solar energy. Their Chardonnay strikes a nice balance between European and Californian styles. A restrained use of oak, the absence of malolactic fermentation and use of natural yeast work together to let the pure, cool climate Carneros fruit shine through. Full-bodied and structured with healthy tannins wrapped around a core of ripe black fruit and a healthy bit of oak.
