This is a unique and more savory Cotes du Rhone than you may be used to drinking. Right across the Rhone River from Chateauneuf-du-Pape is Ardeche where the Pommier family tends to their certified organic vineyards. This blend has an interesting nose of vegetal green peas overtop deep plum and blackberry with a touch of pepper. Its lush on the palate with black fruits, savory spices, and mint. In a sea of Cotes du Rhone, this wine stood out and is soon to be your new favorite.
This is a lovely white Cotes du Rhone, with plenty of floral notes from the Viognier balanced by the weightier texture of the Roussanne. Stone and tropical fruit aromas on the nose are followed by white peach and a hint of anise on the palate. The rich and silky mouthfeel and balanced crisp mineral finish make this is a real delight!
Although his name does not appear on the label, this wine is made by Eric Texier. We've heard that his sons asked him to make wine for them that didn't give them a headache, and he responded with this cuveé, which contains no added sulfur at all. Dark purple in color, the nose shows smoke and a bit of black olive. This is followed by black berries, black pepper and minerals on the palate. Medium-bodied and quite savory, it finish long with plenty of acidity.
Herve Souhaut created this domaine in 1993, 5 hectares of old and ancient vines, between 50 and 100 years old. This syrah is made from 30 year old vines. Very pronounced nose - violets, a bit of coffee, bacon fat, black cherry and wet stone minerality. While the aromas are repeated on the palate, vibrant fruit flavors dominate and leads to a soft tannic finish. Winemaking Details: Unfiltered, Low SO2 Added
This rosé was racked by bleeding and opening the base of the vat while the wine is still light in color. Traditional vinification without clusters, aged in concrete vat with minimum sulfur. Rose peony color with a great aromatic red-fruit richness. The Grenache offers freshness on the palate with a persistent nectar on the nose. A crisp and fruit-forward wine. Winemaking Details: Unfiltered.
A great, balanced, delicious Chateauneuf which is drinking surprisingly well right now. Rich red fruits, a hint of minerality and a touch of dried herbs. Another great wine from our friends at Rosenthal.
