Wine: Rioja

Biurko Gorri Rioja Arbanta
This is the kind of wine they drink in Rioja. Slightly rustic, it has nice fruit, a bit of earth and leather on the nose, and is quite refreshing. It is not over-oaked, or micro-oxygenated, just good, old-fashioned Rioja.
Lopez de Heredia Vina Cubillo Crianza
By LdH standards, this is a mere babe of a wine. Considered their "entry-level" Rioja, it already has six years under its belt and it's offering plenty of gorgeousness. Made with the indigenous grapes of Rioja - Tempranillo, Garnacha, Mazuelo (Carignan), Graciano. Licorice and dark berry fruits brim from the glass. It is juicy and aromatic all at once, with a hint of complexity. Winemaking Details: Spontaneous Yeast Fermentation
Lopez de Heredia Vina Gravonia
There was a time when no one Stateside had heard of Lopez de Heredia - now it’s safe to say they’ve gained cult status and every cool wine bar in town carries them. Yet despite the fame, they have remained staunchly traditional, making old-school-style Rioja. Gravonia is an incredible aged white wine, made in a slightly oxidized manner from the local Viura grape. Pear, walnuts, quince, peach and wax....it’s quite complex. Drink it...savor it.
