Torrontes is a fun grape with such intense floral aromas on the nose that one would assume it would be juicy and cloying. While there are many sweeter versions on the market, this torrontes shines with notes of lychee, orange blossom, and jasmine and a crisp, dry finish. All hand harvested grapes from a single vineyard, this well balanced wine is a great sipper.
Domaine Philémon is located in a small village on the Vere river in the Gaillac AOC. The vineyard has been with the Vieules family since 1804. Today Mathieu Vieules grows wheat, sunflowers and grapes in equal proportions, all organically. The yields are kept exceedingly low and the harvest is done entirely by hand. Gaillac "Perlé" is a zippy quaffable wine.
