Zweigelt creates a lovely, soft, aromatic red wine reminiscent of pinot noir in its cherry/raspberry scent and taste, as well as in its gentle, supple tannins. Serve this wine slightly cool with anything from a roast pork loin to a grilled cheeseburger.  It comes in in a one-liter bottle sealed with a crown cap. (Put an old cork in the bottle if you don't finish it right away.)  A great bargain and a really good, “drink-now” red wine.

With 60% of their vineyards over 100 years old, Roquesán may be the best value in the store. This 100% Tempranillo is grown in sandy with alluvial stone soil at 2,788 feet. The free run juice ferments in cement tanks with 10 days of maceration. The wine then ages for 6 months before spending another 10 month in bottle before release. This is balanced, fruit forward tempernillo without the weight of excess oak that plagues this region. Dark fruit, firm tannins, nicely balanced by just enough acidity to make you want to refill your glass.
