With 60% of their vineyards over 100 years old, Roquesán may be the best value in the store. This 100% Tempranillo is grown in sandy with alluvial stone soil at 2,788 feet. The free run juice ferments in cement tanks with 10 days of maceration. The wine then ages for 6 months before spending another 10 month in bottle before release. This is balanced, fruit forward tempernillo without the weight of excess oak that plagues this region. Dark fruit, firm tannins, nicely balanced by just enough acidity to make you want to refill your glass.

A rare gem! Hermanos Pecina is located in the heart of Rioja Alta in the Sonsierra Riojana. Expert viticulturist Pedro Pecina, who managed the vineyards of Rioja Alta for nearly 20 years, is the owner of these 50 hectares of vines planted mostly to tempranillo with 10 hectares of graciano and garnacha. The average vine age is 30 years old; all grapes are hand-harvested. This wine is a beautiful example of truly traditional Rioja, and at 7 years of age, everything has come together to make a balanced, delicious, wine with plenty of fruit, structure, acidity and well-integrated oak.
Fresh, delicate, and floral, with wild berries. Also strawberry notes typical of the Garnacha grape. Light and tasty, lively acidity, nice body and very agreeable with an uncharacteristically long finish in the mouth for a rosé. Made from certified organic grapes, at this price, what's not to like?

This region provides tremendously unique microclimates for the cultivation of grape vines. The vines of D. Ventura are over 80 years old. Working these lands is extremely difficult as the terraces in some areas are so steep that all the grapes have to be brought in on a dumb waiter.
