Love is in the air, and we can't think of a better way to fan the flames of passion than with Champagne and chocolate.  We have the Champagne covered, but thanks to New York's rather arcane liquor laws, we can't sell chocolate in the store.  We can offer an amazing dessert wine that tastes like chocolate AND chocolate whiskey, though, and that's just what we're going to do!

Doyard Champagne Cuvée Vendémiaire, Brut $44.99

The Doyard family is closely linked to the history of Champagne, and Yannick Doyard is currently the 11th generation winemaker at the estate.  The grapes come from their prized grand cru and premier cru vineyards and roughly 50 percent of their harvest is sold off to negociants each year, keeping only the finest grapes for the Cuvée Vendémiaire.  In the glass, aromas of fresh-baked brioche envelope the senses, followed by a beautiful, silky/creamy texture.  On the palate, a striking balance of white peach, zesty lemon and croissant lead to a long, delicious finish.
